In which our hearts are full ...
We spent much of these two days cleaning like loons - as IF our children will notice. But I guess it's good to vacuum the carpets once every three years or so. We got their little bedroom all set up - isn't it cute?! Claire has pointed out that there is a 'lot of leg' between the two of them, so we may end up moving one bed upstairs, or to the upper deck.
I, of course, think it is hiLARIOUS that these are the 'mints' on their pillows. |
Lots of cleaning is going on around us, as people get ready for the season. This boat is just up the dock from us, and is one of the 007 brands. You can rent it for $65,000/week. P E R W E E K!!! For that amount of money one would expect ALL the toys, which it definitely has. The guys getting it ready even blew up all the inflatables. One of which was a jet ski... Huh...
I had my 2 1/2 hour staff meeting - so this boat name is very appropriate:
While I was on my virtual call Rick decided that, in spite of rain/humidity/heat, he would run errands via bike. The marina is pretty close to some REAL stores (WestMarine , Dunkin Donuts and Target), and we will need 'fun food' for the kids. He went out THREE times - once biking back with two kayak paddles under his arm to replace the demon ones that gave us the rash. I partly felt badly that he was doing all that work, but mostly I was happy to be in the AC! I'm such a supportive partner. In my defense, I think he was having fun. : )
The Big Plan required that the Will's plane from ATL and Claire's plane from Chicago take off and land on time in spite of big weather, and that they find an uber willing to drive them from LaGuardia to the middle of nowhere. I was just a BUNDLE OF NERVES and excitement for most of July 1 - and when the Uber appeared at the end of the street leading to the marina we both jumped up and down and yelled 'I can't believe that worked'!
A prettier day/nice sunset would have been good - but we were full of gratitude and squeezed those kids so tight!!!!!
So happy to catch up on all of your adventures. I can't wait to hear the reports on the Rohrbach family reunion...Surely a Christmas card picture will surface soon...For both of us, July 1st has been a banner day. So excited to finally meet our Colin and see how his parents are treating him! Oh happy days!! Hugs and love, sweet LOOPERS !!!
