In which we opt for AC over inheritance for the kids ...
We had intended to spend two nights in Port Jefferson but given our experience (by which I mean given that it was an ARMPIT) and the continued hot weather we decided to hightail it to Port Washington and stay in a marina with electricity (by which I mean AC) and SHOWERS.
Safe Harbor Capri Marina, just outside of Port Washington, kindly offered to take a bunch of $$ off our hands, as well as our poop, so we took that deal in order to have AC for the coming hot days while we get ready for the kids.
Safe Harbor runs many marinas around the country, and it's a name we trust. The dock hands were a bunch of adorable teenagers, zooming up and down the docks in golf carts. Next to us was another looper boat, exactly like ours only totally the opposite since it was a $1.2M boat. Gerry and Sue Levy had their gold looper pennant flying (gold means you have completed the loop, and I thought I saw a glint of envy in Rick's eyes) and gave us some helpful info and material about the next leg of our journey. All of our planning to date has focused on NYC/LIS/NYC - but soon we will have to turn our attention to the Hudson and points North. Not yet, tho. We still have to GET READY FOR THE KIDS!!
If you ask me, we need fewer of these summer knights if they are all going to be this hot... Also, I think this does not really qualify as nautical or pun humor - so I took points off. |

No picture of the $1.2M looper boat? Ya know, just for comparison purposes.
