Well - all I can say is that I was a willing participant in getting up at an 'unreasonable' hour. Mr Weather said the wind would come up in the afternoon, and today is a 6-hr cruise, so the earlier the better. We were reminded yesterday that bouncy=grumpy. The damn moon was still setting as we set off…
We were SO HAPPY to go under the bridge. Since 2019 we have been telling Claire we would come down Lake Michigan to Chicago and see her. And it's finally NOT A LIE!
Yes, yes - stupid moon. We know it's early - go to bed already... |
The sun makes a late appearance. |
And, just like that, we were FINALLY on Lake Michigan!!!!!
It was a long day, but smooth-thank you, Mr Weather... I fell asleep for a 'second' while Rick drove, and, I have to say, that made the time pass more quickly!
Petoskey hove into view, and it was such a calm day that I sucked it up and docked us. Somewhat successfully. Hooray?! |
We tied up and took a nap (#2 of the day for me, if you are counting). Then off for a walk - priority was to get 6 scripts refilled at Walgreens, since we haven’t been in the US and we old folks need our meds. On the way back, as we crossed a busy road, a guy rolled down his window to apologize for being slightly in the cross walk! It was adorable. We are totally moving here...
Then Rick went back to the boat to smoke some salmon for dinner and I went to the Concert Truck performance I had been looking forward to. The first piece was Liszt's Hungarian Rhapsody #2 for 4 hands, and it was GREAT!! The whole little town was open for an Art Walk, with every store serving snacks/drinks. It was just delightful.
At sunset we got some great silhouettes... Goodnight. XO
