Heritage Plantation Marina – stayed put for the day
I finally admitted that Rick might be right (ahhhhh – I hate
doing that) and that I might need an antibiotic to get rid of this nasty
respiratory infection I have; complete with super sore swollen glands. So we
stayed at the marina for the day and I Ubered (can you believe it’s a verb) to
an urgent care, while Rick did tons of laundry, worked a little on the boat and
relaxed for the day. I don’t think he
even knows how to spell the word ‘relax’ so I’m sure he didn’t… I triumphed at
the urgent care (where they wanted to know if I had delivered my children
vaginally in order to look at my nose - ????) and was successful in getting an
antibiotic. It is POSSIBLE I made myself
sound really important by explaining that I was ‘moving a boat down the East
Coast’ – which, while not a LIE exactly, is perhaps giving the impression that
I do this all the time…
Coming home I walked by a dollar store, but did NOT
succumb. I did succumb at Starbucks,
since it’s been a long time since my last Chai Latte.
It was a cloudy, blustery day with a very strong current
in the Waccamaw river. It is supposed to
get significantly colder tomorrow (morning temps in mid-30). In fact, Rick would not shut up about how
cold is was going to get – I just ignored him and took a nap all
afternoon. I’m going to milk this infection
just like I milked my birthday!!!
While we like the gentle rocking of the boat when going
to sleep, we like less the pretty noisy slap of water against, basically, our
heads. The type of boat we have, a
Mainship, does not have a very sleek bottom profile (kind of like me) and there
is more surface area for the water to hit.
Another thing to get used to…
