We had such a peaceful night in the most quiet, serene and secluded anchorage. It’s one to remember. The slight current held us so precisely against the wind that we never moved all night. The boat was unable to get up to her usual swinging-around shenanigans! An excellent night was had by all.
But we were up and out early. We had a lot of ground to cover, and we were like horses headed for the barn, so excited were we to see William.
There’s nothing you can do about a river current- no way to plan around it like with tide. It’s just going to be a long push. So the 8-hour day was expected, but tiring.

At least there was blue sky part of the way.

For quite a bit of the way we followed a fellow MainShip, who we had met in QC and then saw again in Portneuf. It's nice to have company. And they, obviously, are not intimidated by the Big Ships!

That Big Boy is not underway, but we, ourselves, would still not get that close!

You can see how busy the Port of Montreal is - no wonder there was so much freighter traffic.

Happily back in the familiar Port D'Escale in Montreal - but the only place left for us was right by the toilets and below the public wall. Notice how you can see into our upper and lower living rooms? All the nighttime passers-by were excited about that too! Eating dinner we felt like animals in a zoo/fishbowl. We could hear one little girl say 'C'est magnifique'! |

William and Lee successfully navigated the problematic airline industry, and got to us❣️ We had a lovely dinner, courtesy of Chef Richard, and then a walk around night-time port area for ice cream. Maple, of course.

ah...time for family fun!
ReplyDeleteHow nice to see William!!! The contrast of a trawler against a huge freighter!
