Sun Aug 21: Millions of years have passed here in Beaconsfield

I always day-dream about time where I get to do absolutely nothing.  But the reality is that I get bored very quickly.  We both do.  We are both SO B O R E D...and it's only been 3 days. We will need to be very careful that we don't move on too soon, just out of sheer boredom.

Rick sits, watches TV and ices.  I sit, read and tell him to stop trying to do shit....In fact, he's kind of over it.  This morning I said 'what did the dr say about when you can start that exercise - I think you are trying it too soon' and he said 'my dr was clear that I should ask my wife to approve anything I do or think'.

I, for one, am very much enjoying the fact that poor Rick can only sleep on his back. Which = mucho snoring...

As I mentioned before, it's important to make sure you have health insurance that works outside the US.  We KNOW this, it's why we got a rider for Antarctica and Chile....But we checked our brains at the door to Canada, apparently.  Luckily nothing really terrible happened and we ended up paying just about what we would have in the US.  (The doctor, weirdly, required cash. Can you imagine in the US slipping your doc $100 cash?!) No fear - we NOW have a health rider for Canada.🙄

Regarding stupidity...it ALSO turns out that our boat insurance did NOT COVER US east of Quebec City.  Huh.  I always tell the kids that I don't want to know bad things until they are over, so I guess this is that.  Had we known we would have missed that whole great part of the trip...

That's all I've got - thank you very much.

  1. Yes, but who would ever think to check that it stops coverage EAST OF QUEBEC CITY? #crazy
