Sun Sept 13: Yorktown Marina to Jackson Creek Anchorage

In which a rather critical element breaks ....

Hmmmm - there appeared to be a rather negative development this morning.  Both of us had noticed a change in the sound the head (toilet for you sorry land-lubbers) pump makes, and I had been quite vocal about my feeling that the smell during pumping had not changed for the better. Some investigation commenced and a command came down from the top that we would no longer be using the toilet aboard the boat until such time as would be determined. What do you think that makes a person likely to do?  YES - want to use the toilet...

Arrrgggg - Rick found and ordered the part to be delivered to Deltaville Marina.  But for the next 24 hours???  Yes - it's a mystery.

The three-master distracts us with its breathtaking grace.

We said  good bye to our friends on Meander - I know they will be part of our future!  Meantime, they have given us lots of info on the Potomac, our next jump.

The jump to Jackson Creek Anchorage is uneventful - and the creek is quiet and peaceful.  The bugs were out, and the air was still which made for a sweaty and uncomfortable night. Remind me why we are doing this again...??

Oh - and I had to pee in the shower (that goes right into the water) since we can't use the head.  Imagine what a good mood that put me in.   But while I was complaining, Rick was working on the head and taking out the offending broken part.  Which was really nasty and made me feel bad about complaining.  Living the dream, baby!
