What a nice day! At this point any day without a lock is a great day… Rick tried to resign from his leadership last night, suggesting (thank you, Monty Python) that we become an ‘autonomous collective’. That was roundly voted down by the group, so his reign continues. And he got everyone to agree to shove off at 9am this morning, rather than 7am (I love that boy). We were the last boat in place, so we got all the kids off to school and then we enjoyed a quiet hour and coffee/tee before leaving the marina around 10:30.

Today’s route was an easy 3 hours to IVY, a private yacht club that welcomes transients. |

Duck blind, quite lovingly put together. |
Upper Peoria Lake was confusing, with markers in the wrong places and the channel narrow with unforgiving sides + winds. Fortunately, we were prepared for all of this thanks to the Heritage Harbor briefing, so we nonchalantly trundled on. The wind tried to give Rick a bit of trouble with docking, but he wasn’t having any of it. He needed to get us tied up so we could go get the yummy steak we had read about…. Not to be, the kitchen was closed. But the bar was open so everyone went up to watch Sat football, and I got some nice quiet time to work on the blog. A win all around!!

The IVY has 3 distinctive cupolas and a baby lighthouse. |

We were just about sitting on the bottom, but at least we were tucked up safe for the 25 mph winds. |

Goodnight! |
