We had intended to spend another night here in Morton's Bay, and it was a lovely, quiet spot. But the weather had changed, and swimming no longer felt appealing. Or, perhaps, we are just ready to be home.
Yvonne and Michael took this nice pic of Blue Horizon, on their way out this morning. |
In order to leave, however, we had to tackle the beast that had grown on our anchor/chain! Rick had to come down from the helm to help me, as it took all hands to tear this muddy weed creature off.
Motoring out we said good bye to the high rock walls of the bay, and noticed a bit of fall color seeping into the leaves.
We hardly had to wait at any of the locks or bridges - they all knew we were coming, and there wasn't much boat traffic to hold us up.
We oped for the wall, just below the Lower Brewers lock. There was power, and NOTHING else! No other boats, no trails to walk. Just the thundering of the water coming over the dam, and puzzles.
OK - there WAS an apple farm within walking distance - so we went to support the local business. Talk about SOUR! Rick's going to try to cook them into something... This is a popular pick-your-own destination from Kingston, so I guess we are almost there!
Looking back we can see the dam on the left, and the lock on the right. Goodnight!
