Fri Oct 9: Annapolis to Baltimore Anchorage Marina

In which we find Baltimore a bit gritty ...

As we get ready to leave, we are reminded that there is 'always a bigger boat'.  The sailboat next to us looked pretty big - until right now.

 Oh - I'm sorry I can't help with breakfast ... I have TO WORK!

We head out to Baltimore.  But I don't know how we will get there with this clown on his phone whilst driving...

Passing under the bridge on the way out of Annapolis:

 Lighthouse fun -

Passing under the bridge into Baltimore:

There is a star-spangled buoy in the Baltimore Harbor to mark the spot where Francis Scott Key watched the fight at Fort McHenry and had the idea for what would later become our national anthem.  You will just have to take my word for it since we were too far away to get a good pic.

Rick found us a nice marina on the edge of the main part of town - I do think it's a silly name since OBVI a marina is not the same thing as a anchorage.  They manage the slips for tboat owners and rent them out - kind of like SlipBNB.

We took an afternoon walk around the Fells Pt area.  More lovely buildings to take pix of!

On our way home we couldn't help but notice that there was a helicopter overhead broadcasting 'for your own safety leave the roof and get back in the house'.  Over and over.  For our whole walk home.  Between that and the sharps disposal bin in Whole Foods, we knew we were in a grittier area than we are used to...

Boat name of the day - we could all use more hope, and I guess there is drug for that!
